The standard Vela Fox Protect app is available on Google Play in the United States. Advanced is a separate, optional website edition.

Install the small app, then download 2.21 GB of analysis files during setup. Use Wi-Fi and keep 6 GB of storage free. Android 12+, 64-bit ARM and 8 GB physical RAM are required.

Keep Android’s security protections on. Developer options and USB debugging are not required.
In Protect build 15 or later, enter the parent PIN and open Family plan to choose or restore Premium. The setup update is subject to Google Play availability. Existing Parent subscribers can restore in Parent → Settings → Family plan using the original purchasing account. Do not buy a second plan.
Use the Download Advanced button on this official page. If interrupted, resume from your browser’s Downloads. Keep Protect installed if you want to retain its saved findings.
Open the APK. If Android asks, allow the browser to install this app, then turn that permission off again afterward. Developer options, USB debugging and a computer are not required.
In the app that owns your plan, open Family plan → Link Advanced edition. Enter the private, temporary family code in Advanced while connected to the internet. Different Google accounts are welcome. The child does not purchase a subscription.
Complete the phone check, enable visible protection, choose photo-library access and confirm the protection status is active. Pair with the Parent companion only if you want to receive findings on another nearby phone.
“All” means the photos Android permits Advanced to read. Limited access covers only your Android selection. Full access allows checks of newly saved shared photos; it does not unlock private app contents.
Installing Advanced pauses new monitoring in the Play child app to avoid duplicate alerts. Findings and permissions are separate; existing findings do not move automatically. To return to Play Protect, remove Advanced and reopen Protect.
Automatic photo checks cover only media Android exposes and may be delayed. Private, disappearing, unsaved or cloud-only items may be unavailable. Local analysis can miss concerns or flag harmless content.
Activation and refresh use Google Play verification. Signed offline access lasts at most 72 hours and never beyond the verified subscription period. Expiry pauses new monitoring; saved findings remain available. A refund or removal takes effect on the next successful check or when the offline lease expires.
Child-content analysis stays local. Subscription checks send minimal billing and family-link metadata over the internet.

Install Vela Fox Protect on the protected Android phone. A guardian can review findings in its locked Parent mode. Pairing the separate Parent app is not required for local monitoring or review after family-plan activation.
Get Protect on Google PlayConnect Vela Fox Parent on your phone to your child’s Protect device when you want to receive approved findings over nearby Bluetooth. It does not monitor the phone it is installed on.
Get the Parent companionPremium is the family subscription. Advanced is its optional website download, included at no extra charge, with optional automatic photo-library checks. Advanced is available here, separately from the Google Play edition.
Download Advanced & read setup stepsSubscription setup: Protect build 15 adds purchase and restore directly during setup and in its PIN-protected Parent mode. Google Play availability may vary while the update rolls out. If your installed version has no plan buttons, update Protect; existing Parent subscribers can still restore and link their original plan. The heavier analysis runs on Protect. Parent receives encrypted findings for your review.
Before permissions or subscription setup, Protect checks the phone and runs invented text and image samples locally. No personal content is needed. The check measures background analysis capacity, rather than requiring instant results. Android Go and virtual RAM do not meet the memory requirements.
Quick safety rules check incoming previews. Deeper automatic reviews wait for idle time, sufficient battery and a cool phone, then pause when the phone wakes. Findings may arrive later. Ask Vela Fox and reviews you start yourself run when requested.
Up to 32 selected reviews wait encrypted on the phone for up to 24 hours. App restarts preserve the original deadline; phone restarts discard waiting reviews. Turning protection off or losing access erases them. Expired files are removed when Vela Fox next runs, and unprocessed previews are never marked safe. Photo checks can resume while library access remains enabled. A successful sample check confirms basic performance, not detection accuracy or all-day battery life. A system or analysis update requires a fresh check.
